How long does a laptop repair take?
Two things decide it: whether the part for your exact model is on the shelf, and whether the fault has to be traced before it can be fixed. We tell you the expected time when you hand the laptop over, not afterwards.
Quick answer
Parts jobs on common models are quick once the part is in hand. Board-level work takes longer because tracing the fault is the work. Anything that needs a part ordered for your specific model waits on that delivery. We give you an expected date at drop-off and tell you if it changes; we do not publish a blanket "same day" promise we cannot keep for every job.
What makes a repair quick
- The part for your model is in stock (common batteries, keyboards, chargers, SSDs, RAM, fans).
- The fault is obvious and confirmed by a simple test.
- No data recovery is needed first.
- You approved the quote straight away, so the work could start.
What makes a repair take longer
- Board-level diagnosis. Measuring rails and finding one failed component among hundreds is careful work, and rushing it produces wrong repairs.
- Liquid damage. Cleaning, drying properly, then repairing what corrosion reached, and testing for stability afterwards.
- Ordered parts. Panels, hinges and boards for less common or older models come from suppliers; the wait is theirs, not ours, and we tell you the expected date.
- Data recovery first. When files matter more than the machine, we recover before repairing.
- Intermittent faults. A laptop that fails once a day has to be run and watched, or the "repair" is a guess.

How long will I be without my laptop?
You get an expected date with the quote, before you agree to anything. If your work depends on it, tell us; it affects how we sequence the job.
Can you do same-day repairs?
Many jobs are finished the same day when the part is in stock, which is why customers mention it in reviews. We will not promise it for every job, because board-level work and ordered parts genuinely take longer.
